Srinagar: A foreign militant was killed in an encounter in Bomai area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday, police said

The slain militant was identified as Abu Bakar from Pakistan and claimed  he was associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba, it added.

Indian army’s Northern Command tweeted “Second successful counter terrorist operation of the day. One terrorist eliminated in  Bomai, Baramulla “

Earlier, a local militant Basit Rasool belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen was killed in an encounter in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
