Srinagar: Police raided Methan, Chanapora area of Srinagar at 12 midnight during the intervening night of November 4 and 5 in which three local youth were detained by them. The youth were identified as Umar, Yasir and Babloo.

Panic griped the entire area and people were forced to remain indoors due to pepper gas fired by the police, said a local.

However, no sooner the police left the area, azadi slogans blared out from local mosques, calling others to come out on streets in protest of youth’s arrests.
