Militants not behind bank robberies in Kashmir: Lashkar

Srinagar: Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Friday said that they don’t believe in bank robberies and blamed the New Delhi for “maligning the image of the outfit”.

“Robbing banks is not the work of mujahideen. Honesty, truth and serving Kashmiri people is our core trait. This is an Indian agenda to malign us that has been planned in Delhi. Such tactics are bound to fail like they have been unsuccessful in the past,” LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi was quoted by local news agency CNS as saying.

“India is running from pillar to post to malign the symbols of Freedom. India is using brutal force and spies for her nefarious schemes. Indian hostile media is also censoring Kashmiris’ voice and presenting their struggle in a negative light.”

The LeT spokesperson was also quoted as saying, “We believe India is bound to fail and the sacrifices of martyrs will never go in vain while freedom is around the corner.”
