
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly says there is a beauty in touring Pakistan and he always loved visiting the country.
In a TV interview after the launch of his book “A Century is not Enough: My Roller-coaster Ride to Success” which also includes a whole chapter on Pakistan, Ganguly said Pakistan is a fascinating country where he was treated with love, kindness and hospitality, a media report said.
“It is a fascinating country, it is rough, it’s beautiful, it’s different, It’s harsh country and a soft country as well,” he said.
Answering a question regarding his experience of interaction with Pakistan people he said: ” I couldn’t imagine you could get treated so well… with food, hospitality and with kindness. It was a great place to tour.”
Asked whether Pakistan was a tough country to play in terms of pressure, he responded in affirmative saying “yeah, they were a good side’
Ganguly impressed by the beauty of Pakistani cities he toured which included Sialkot Rawalpindi Lahore and Karachi but he seemed in awe of Pakistan’s capital.
“Islamabad is such a beautiful place, you go there, the capital you, drive through the streets and one side you see beautiful buildings and on the other side those rugged mountains of Pakistan. It is fascinating.”
