Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch: Report

Srinagar: Pakistan early Wednesday morning violated the ceasefire in Mankote area of Mendhar, Poonch, news agency ANI reported.

“Intermittent firing is still continuing. This is the second ceasefire violation by Pakistan in less than 48 hours. The firing, which began at about 3 am, continued till 7 am. India retaliated strongly to the firing,” the report said.

On Monday, India claimed that two of its soldiers were killed and mutilated by BAT of Pakistan on this side of the LoC, following which India lodged strong protest with Pakistan, vowing to retaliate at a time and place of its choosing.

The Pakistan army, however, denied the claim and said that it didn’t kill or mutilate¬†Indian Soldiers.
