Protests against democratically elected Trump in US

Srinagar: Thousands of protesters around the US took to the streets on Wednesday to condemn the election of Donald Trump as president, media reports said.

The demonstrations were mostly peaceful, according to the reports.

The protests took place in Washington outside the White House, Chicago, Manhattan, Philadelphia, Boston, Texas, Oregon, Oakland, California and San Francisco, the media reported.

Several thousand people marched in different parts of the US shouting, “Not my president!”, “Trump’s a racist” and carrying signs that said “Impeach Trump” and “Abolish Electoral College”, the reports added.

Republican candidate Donald Trump was elected as 45th US president in a historic ‘shocker’ election yesterday. His opponent Hillary Clinton conceded defeat in the election, proving all pre-poll analysis of US political pundits wrong.
