To quell student protests, govt shuts down SP, MP schools

Srinagar: The district administration Srinagar has decided to suspend the class work for students at SP Higher Secondary School (HSS) and MP ML HSS Srinagar on Thursday.

“Teaching activity will remain suspended in SP School and MP School tomorrow,” Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone told local newspaper Greater Kashmir.

Student protests were witnessed outside MP school on Wednesday which triggered clashes in the area.

Earlier, protesters surfaced in various educational institutions asking students to protest against, what it terms, “the Indian occupation”.
