Rahul Gandhi asks PM Modi when justice will be delivered to Kathua, Unnao victims

Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that “India’s daughters will get justice”, Congress president Rahul Gandhi asked Modi to spell out the time frame in which victims of the Unnao and Kathua rape victims would get justice, reports said.

“Dear Prime Minister, Thank you for breaking your long silence. You said “our daughters will get justice”. India wants to know: when?” asked Gandhi on Twitter late on Friday evening.

Earlier, using the hashtag #SpeakUp, he had questioned the PM’s silence. “Mr Prime Minister, your silence is unacceptable. 1. What do YOU think about the growing violence against women & children? 2. Why are accused rapists and murderers protected by the state? India is waiting,” he said.

Gandhi had also promised that the “midnight march will not go in vain.” Ashok Gehlot, in-charge of the organisation said Congress units in every State will be holding candlelight vigils to highlight crimes against women.
