Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a shutdown across Kashmir Valley today and tomorrow in view of militant killings in south Kashmir gunfights.
The JRL, comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik, has asked people to suspend business and other activities and offer funeral prayers in absentia at 4 pm across Kashmir valley.
A dozen militants were killed in three separate gunfights in south Kashmir’s Shopian and Anantnag districts on Sunday morning.
At least 50 people were injured during the clashes with government forces that ensued at the encounter sites. A daily reported that ten youth were hit with pellets in eyes and were shifted to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital.
