‘Spare our families, we will spare yours’: Burhan’s successor in a new video
Srinagar: Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Rashid Bhat, the new face of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir after the killing of Burhan Wani on 8 July, has released a new video warning government forces not to “involve” their families in the conflict.
“You made a big mistake by involving our families. I pardon this as first and last mistake. If you involve our families, we won’t spare yours. This fight is between you and us,” Zakir, Burhan’s successor, said in a 1.25minute video that was widely shared on WhatsApp and social networking sites on Thursday.
The 21-year-old militant, who was wearing a half sleeve T-shirt in the video, further said in the video that if the government continues to “involve” his family, then the families of Police officials won’t be spared.
“From a peon to IG everyone has a family… Kashmir’s streets will be littered with police corpses in case you again involved our families,” Zakir said in the video.
“Don’t think that your families are in Jammu and are safe. Even if your families are in Kaniyakumari, we will bury them there.”
According to reports, Zakir’s father was detained at Tral camp, in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, by Army few days back.
