A woman was arrested along with nearly one kilogram of charas in Kupwara district, police said Monday.

As part of a “special drive to eradicate the drug menace from the society,” police acting on specific information arrested a woman drug peddler with 700 grams of charas during checking of vehicles at Drugmulla.

She was identified as Mugli Begum of Zurhama, a police spokesman said, adding a case has been registered in this regard and further investigations are underway.
